Market
The time has come to figure out how to sustain Decaf. We need several things to keep
Decaf alive. We need a group of involved users that is willing to talk (and continue talking)
with us. We set up a forum where we all of the people who built Decaf will be hanging out.
We call it the Decaf Group and it
we invite everyone to share their ideas and opinions.
And we need some sort of income. We are looking at bundling opportunities. Keep an eye out, you might be lucky. And as of today Decaf is available on the Market. You can either search in the market for 'decaf' or 'ec2', or use the QR-Code.
Whishlist (contact us if you have a preference)
Now we can call ourselves finalists of the 2nd Android Developer Challenge!! Very proud, of course, but slightly disappointed too. We didn't sit still after the submission deadline of August 31. We have been working hard to get to this release. We tried to share the progress on this site.
But the challenge has ended, and we want to continue with Decaf. To keep providing an app that you can rely on with your infrastructure we expect it necessary to continue our efforts. Therefore the app is no longer in available as a public beta. But you can get it from the Market.
Apart from keeping track of the changes of Amazon AWS we have quite a wishlist. Some of the items we already had. But most of the items on the wishlist originate from discussions and conversations with you. If you want to influence the order of the features go to the contact page and cast your vote.
We have still quite a long list of features and wishes including
- -
monitoring instance ports (ssh, http, mysql, smtp, etc.) - - multiple accounts
- - handle public assets (images, snapshots)
- - cloudwatch (including autoscaling/loadbalancing)
- - configuration of charts in widget/cloudwatch (dimensions)
- - thresholding (and alerting) on cloudwatch data
- - cloudfront
- - integrate with 'ConnectBot' or something similar
- - integrate with donut search :)
- - open up to other providers (or create plugin architecture)
- - expose amazon actions as open intents
(Pssst, we are also planning an iPhone release!!)
